COVID Update August 23, 2021

Dear TSD families,
Late last week, we were made aware of a positive COVID case with an adult in ST Elementary. Along with the DOH, we worked through the contact tracing process. The families of any students and staff who need to be excluded due to close contact have been contacted directly.
Also, we are aware that a community member who attended the Mercersburg Elementary Open House last week has tested positive for COVID. However, in this setting, we are unable to accurately determine close contacts.
Thank you. Be well.

COVID Update August 23, 2021

Dear TSD Families,
As we did last school year, TSD will post information about positive COVID cases on our website in this location. We will also contact any individuals directly if they are deemed to be in "close contact" to a positive case. If in close contact, instructions and expectations will given according to current CDC/DOH guidelines, vaccination status, etc.
Thank you.

PowerSchool Transition

The transition to PowerSchool student information system has occurred. Families were mailed a letter earlier this summer with directions to establish a parent portal. The transition has caused some delays in the transportation routing process. Our transportation department is working tirelessly to get the necessary information to families. Additional information will be forthcoming from the building principals. Thank you for your patience as we work through this transition.

Updated H/S Plan

The Tuscarora Back to School Health and Safety plan is posted on the website under the District tab. Masks are optional for both faculty and staff and social distancing will be practiced when possible. The CDC and DOH continue to adjust their guidelines regarding close contact(s) with positive COVID cases and any necessary quarantines. We will continue to make updates as necessary.

ARP/ESSER/ESSA Feedback

Tuscarora School District is seeking public input for its draft of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ESSER) grant and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Plan. This grant provides over 4 million dollars over a period of 3 years to address lost instructional time, to support student achievement and mental health, and to provide the infrastructure to support student learning in safe environments.
